– Oratorio (oratory)

It’s a place of recollection and prayer for the lords of the castle. The small room has stone walls covered with silk veils and a cross vault with figured corbels, copied from the choir stalls of the church of San Giovanni in Saluzzo. In front of the kneeling-stool is a book of hours, a collection of prayers for the different moments of the day. On the small altar is a diptych depicting the Annunciation of the Virgin, to whom the Dukes of Savoy were particularly devoted; this is the work of Rodolfo Morgari, painter and restorer of the Royal Palace of Turin.
